Just moved into a new build.

I opted for the bog standard carpet in my basement games room on the assumption it would be really thin.

Turns out to be quite deep and fluffy and as such means I can't whiz around on my favourite office chair.

What's the best sort of carpet that is really thin so castor wheels roll easily but not too thin it wears easily?

Also considering Kardean but it's a basement room so worried about cold feet.

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

Do you need the chair to move around the whole room or just a desk? If the latter, you can get mats to go over the carpet.

    Google

You can buy thin carpets, i nearly bought one for my hallway once, almost like a mat but unfortunately i have no further details.
