I am just turning my second living area into a home cinema and would like to ask anyone for their views on flooring - would carpet or wooden floors make any difference to the sound? All views are greatly appreciated

PS The room is rectangular approx. 15ft x 12 ft

I believe that wooden floors can make the room a little 'bright'. However, this can be overcome to some extent with soft furnishings and a rug.

I've got all my home cinema gear set up in my living room which has wooden floors and a large rug but, to be honest, I notice little, if any, difference in the sound if the rug is down or not.
