Q Acoustics 3050 is probably the best bang for buck atm, 349£/pair!! If you have local RS near you, go listen them while there is still some stock left! Lot`s of reviews and owners comments can be found by googling. The new 3050i model costs 649£, so this is quite a steal..
    Q Acoustics Speakers Per Pair

Mission MX6 is old model, but designed for larger rooms! Big 3-way speakers with total of 4 x 6,5" drivers. They really need some space (out from walls) to sound best as was already mentioned from the smaller MX5 model. If you like to keep parties at your house and listen loud (with lot`s of half naked women there), get these and invite me in! :lease:

There is very little information about Polks. Demo would be in order if you can find dealer near you.

Not sure what to think about Tannoy 7.4, are they really this bad?

There is also one pair of MA RX6 at classifieds within your budget, but might be tricky as you have to listen them first. These should be best of the bunch, competing in higher class but should also be driven more expensive amp/receiver to get them singing.

Nobody knows which kind of sound you like, so go listen some first cause people like different things! Book demo time and then take your music with you there, compare them head to head. It will give you more answers for sure.. :smashin:

HiFi Choice Magazine seemed to like them a bit more than What HiFi did. Got 4/5 stars. But like Gasp says, best to listen and decide which sounds best to you.

The Tannoy Speakers are larger in width and depth and should produce a larger sound because of this, they're also easier to drive, but the saving on the Q Acoustics Speakers and the fact that they both are good speakers in there own ability shouldn't dissuade you from either speaker.

Neither will be better than a second hand pair of RX6 speakers as was suggested, but you could say that about most second hand speakers when comparing to a brand spanking new set at the same price.

Go and have yourself a listen, they both sound different, each has strong point and weakness. If your buy blind, neither are bad at that point either and you shouldn't feel short changed by either, they're just a little different in how they sound
