    Hello all,

I have been recommended the M&K 850 setup by my local dealer - I must admit I am very rusty when it comes to Home Cinema having not ourchased anything for a while. I am looking for some advie in respect to people's experiences with the above speaker package. I have listened to them and they do sound awesome!! They will probably be partnered with a £700 Yamaha amp, but I am very oipen to suggestions! :lesson:

    All the best,

    Jon :) :)

Depends on your budget and what you want as a setup ??

M&K make excellent speakers that are only used by people with excellent taste :D

Whilst I am a great fan of their speakers I think that their subwoofers are overpriced and some of them border on the weedy.

If you have to buy from one shop then you are a bit stuck with what they stock but I would try and listen to some of the B&W subwoofers if I were you.

If you are free to buy from anywhere, SVS subwoofers become an option too

I'd also add to be careful with amp partnering with the M&K 850s. They sound "bright" at the best of times, and especially if you have a live room, you want an amp which will just take the edge off a touch...
