Had a 40W4500 for a couple of weeks, great piccie although I cannot stand the autocontrast feature had to turn it off straight away!!

Anyway I have noticed on certain scenes that matt areas of certain grey colours flicker.

Now I can't understand why only gray area's of the screen would flicker, and not saturated white areas for example, if it were simply a backlight fault.

Then I got to wondering does this TV try to dither to achieve certain shades (i.e. is it deliberately toggling between two shades of grey)?

Or is it just a hardware problem or simply a limitation of LCD tech?

My backlight is set to 6.

    Yours thoughts most welcome.
