Will be fitting a new laminate floor in lounge & dining room shortly, How much per meter should I be looking at spending on a good quality flat speaker cable ? Any suggestions of brand & number of strands would also be helpful.

LDR - If you get the underlay boards (Wickes sell them) for the laminate floor rather than the cheap thin underlay roll, then you can cut channels for your speaker cable - that way you don't have to compromise on your choice of cable. Not only that but the underlay does help with insulation - both sound and heat. Worth spending the extra money.
