I have a Minolta Dimage camera that connects to a USB port on my Mac for downloading images. My problem is that the transfer speed is painfully slow - i tend to use uncompressed tiffs upto about 9mb in size - would using a Flash card reader speed things up at all?

Also are there any readers available that use Firewire rather than USB?

    Cheers for any info.

Cheers for the link - it had a few that work with a mac but the descriptions where brief for my liking. I've found a Lacie card reader reviewed elsewhere that auto mounts when a card is inserted if using OSX - so I think i'm gonna get myself one.

The best place i've found for cheap memory is Crucial . Good prices and reliable too.

Commercial companies are not allowed to advertise themselves. But recommendations of good retailers are invaluable. So please by all means recommend away.

Let me second that thought. But not only do they have great prices, but there after sales service is fantastic (and you don't hear that very often these days).
