Well thats that then. The bank manger is going to kill me, (only if the wife doesn't get to me first). The kids are going to get sick of me saying "Go upstairs and watch CBeebies and my friends are going to get bored with me telling them about my first plasma screen.

Last night I ordered a Hitachi 42PD3000. It arrives in about 10 days and now my mission is to sell my phillips 9576 for £500 ish, before the plasma arrives.

Does anyone have any tips about the first few days, weeks or months of a plasma's life?

    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

    Josh

Congrats on getting a new screen
Keep the brightness and contrast on low for first 100hours will help in running it in.
CBeebies looks ace on a plasma, i bought my girls one to watch in the sunlounge, all the kids channels looks awesome :)
and even in a sunlounge during the day its easy to see it

    Hope you enjoy it

    Josh bear,

I got mine a couple of months ago. Somehow you may find that the kids will not be bothered to go upstairs to watch Cbeebies so often..instead mine seem to be happy to watch their videos that they never did before and happier to see "monsters" instead. .. there is hope! Ha! Cbeebies does not rule the same like when the plasma was not here.

Thanks for the advice. I will be very careful for the 1st 100 hours.

I must also thank all those who took the time to reply to previous thread when I was undecided. All the info helped. I look forward to helping others out in the future.

    Best Regards

    Josh.
