Was canny impressed with these at glastonbury so did a search for albums by them. They seem to have 11! Can any Lips fans recommend which ones are the best so I can get them.

The Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robot are probably the best.

    Agreed.

Start with either of those two (Yoshimi being the latest)...

There's also a really strange album consisting of four CDs which are supposed to be played via 4 separate hi-fi's in sync. Begins with a Z - if you want a bit of fun buy that one.

In terms of musical merit The Soft Bulletin's probably ze best.

I got into the Lips when I saw them doing Race for the Prize and Waiting for Superman on Later. I'd like an MP3 of that performance if it's available.

I've bought the last two albums and also picked up a couple of others in a sale. All good stuff.

They do a good version of Kylie's Can't get you out of my head.

They have a site at http://www.flaminglips.com with full discography etc. Looks like they have been around since at least 1986.

I'll have to try and catch them live some time. Looks like they are doing a few festivals this year.

Zaireeka is the 4 album simultaneous play.. its pretty damn good, although I've yet to hear it on 4 players.

Personally I'd pick up The Soft Bulletin first, then Clouds Taste Metallic, then Yoshimi... in that order.

(oh and yeah they were excellent at Glasto.. was right up the front!)
