Fixing TranquilMount to wall advice needed

Help please, I am trying to install a Tranquimount above the fireplace for my 55inch tv but the wall plugs I have tried just come out with the weight and force of the bracket when it’s used.

So far I think I have tried all the ones in B&Q and the closest where CoreFix plugs, the wall is a standard newish house of drywall with 3-5mm gap and then breeze block made out of what feels like crunchie bars (joking) and the fixing just dont do the trick.

Am I better fixing a couple of batons and then the mount or has someone done it with better fixings ?

For drywall with dot and dab fixing, i have used dryline pro with no problems.
Rigifix also do specialist fixings.

Thanks, Corefix plugs are very similar but its the cantilever action of the bracket that seems to cause issues.
I am trying a longer version of the plug and some wet n fix but if anyone has more solutions please let me know.

I'm thinking about taking the plunge on a Tranquimount to go over our fireplace, and would really appreciate your thoughts on a) the bracket itself and b) how fitting went.

Hi Maddy, Mesa advice is get good quality wall plugs. Depending on your wall, mine is a newish house with only drywall and breeze block so not much gap behind the drywall for fixings. I used COREFIX plugs 4 at top 2 at bottom and wrapped them in wet n fix pads to make sure they where set fully. Plenty on YouTube but these are them If your house is older and your lucky enough to have bricks then make sure you use decent length screws and raw plugs 4 at top and 2 or 4 at bottom.

The cantilever bracket is quite heavy so make sure the wall bracket bit you fit first is secure before bolting it all together. It took me 2 attempts and a bit of hole filling to get it right but its great once its up.

Other minor issue is how to attach a centre speaker if you use one, I managed to make a bracket up using a long bolt and some old meccano.

Thanks, much appreciated. The wall I'm planning on putting the TV is a solid brick chimney breast, but they're out of stock at the mo of the TMO100A.

How do you find it works in action? Have you been leaving it pulled down in a particular position or are you moving it back against the wall each night?

Bit of both really, it will stop wherever you want it to and doesn’t really protrude out that far. Just read the fitting instructions especially the bit about how high from the fireplace depending on the width of the mantle top.

Tranquil Mount do LG lowering Adaptor that treats the issue with the LG TV VESA holes being too low. The adaptor allows LG TV owners to adjust the bracket so that the wall plate is fully covered when the TV is fully up against the wall. I used to have one mounted to a solid chimney breast and found it worked very well. But of effort to lift it back up into place, but was solid and held it well in the lowered position. Other advantage for me was that it brought it forward quite a lot so closer to the viewing position.
