    Hello!

I've had a home built fixed screen for a couple of months (dismantled IKEA blind). It's a 4:3 and 180cm wide - PJ is 4:3 DLP. It lives in the office upstairs and gets put in front of the TV when I need it.

I'm thinking about getting a pull up instead as it will be neater to store it behind the sofa, but I'm not sure what compromises would be involved.

    These look interesting

I'm assuming that the image should be better with real screen material, but what about ripples?

Besides ripples, the most common complaint is that if the screen stays rolled up more than it stays down, when it does go down, it's going to exhibit some degree of curl at the bottom. Only a Tensioned screen can avoid this problem, but at $4000.00+ USD, it should scratch your back, make you breakfast, and give you kisses when you come home to it.

Nothing will give you more steady value than a good fixed screen.

Looks like I'll stick with my portable fixed screen for now. One day I'll have a room where it can be permenantly mounted ... maybe :)
