Ive got this denon avr 1000 here that is on protect, Im going to take it to a shop and see how much it will cost to repair. Should I get ir repaird or buy a new receiver? How much is too much?

I can get a used sony receiver that comes with a 5 disk dvd changer for 200. Its either get mine fixed or get that one.

I had a similar issue with my SR7400, I thought it was the amp as well, turned out to be a short in one of the speaker wires.

Check out my thread in the integrated amp forum: http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=173611

Should give you some pointers in what to check for before taking it to the store.

You can post them on here using the advanced option and manage attachements to post them. Really might be worth getting something newer as the avr 1000 is so out of date.

Very true. You'd notice a big improvement with some new equipment.
