Fitting spotlights

In my current flat i've got down lights & sport lights which look great but they were there before i moved in. I'm moving in a few weeks & would like the same in the living room, there's 2 light sockets, one at either end & i'd like to replace these with a couple of spot lights. I'm not sure how they're fitted tho, i can't seem to find any how-to links on Google, any ideas?

These types of lights;

Is it just a case of connecting the wires or do they need extra wiring? And what method is used to attach the light to the ceiling as they come in different shapes & sizes.

Thanks in advance.

Can't comment on Homebase as I have never done lighting out of there. Most have a metal plate, you simply screw onto the ceiling, and then fit the plate back into the light and connect. Sometimes this is done by tightening screws at the side. Certain lights are hooked on- IKEA's especially, and these require a ceiling hook to be purchased at 20p a pop.

The first one looks to have the screwed metal base plate, and you can see the screw for tightening the light to it in the image. The second light looks like it clicks into the ceiling rose part from the picture, but hard to see.

As for wiring, if you have normal ceiling light wires there, it is simply a case of fitting them correctly, and on occasions covering the earth as some lights won't have one!

I quite like those lights, but the first one looks a tad expensive. Might be worth considering the use of 35W GU10's to save power and harshness of the light, which the 50's give.
