Fitting new internal doors

Has anyone had new internal doors fitted in their home? I'm after a rough cost for the fitting itself (I know the price for hardware).

I want 8 standard doors fitted and I got quoted £250 for the lot. Does that seem right or too high?

That sounds cheap for 8 internal doors.

If the bloke/company is allowing an hour a door, that's £40 an hour(ish).
I don't think that's cheap or dear, probably about what I'd expect.

I was thinking that sounded ok too. My mate charges 50-70 per door if that's the only job he's doing, obviously less if there's a few of them. But 250 sounds ok. Buy good hinges for the ones you use most often, it does make a difference IMO.

I have had similar work carried out on my rental properties. That sounds like a spot on honest price

I would check if he has any references etc.

Also, get the final price in writing

The guy's done other work in our house and my mother in law's before so that's not a problem.

we just got quoted £399, for 7 internal,78"x30", 6 panel wooden doors, + fitting, +handles and hinges, and all 7 painted.

That sounds pretty good since the doors will come to £200 if we bought them ourselves and hinges and handles aren't included.

Put your foot at the bottom and grab the top.
Cheap ones will flex like a Rolf Harris wobble board.
