Hi to all.

In the early stages of planning a room layout for tv movies and music.

WAF has ruled out anything other than in wall or ceiling speakers.

there is also pressure for the fireplace to be made into a working stove or fireplace, ruling out mounting above the fireplace.

my thought was to mount on this wall with the speakers chased into the brick work.

is this asking for trouble or is it a feasible route to approach?

sorry for the terrible ms paint work...

Cool space, although that parquet has seen better days!

Doesn't look like those walls are very thick from the pics- I'd be building a false wall in front between the windows- could be neatly integrated with the rad or the rad could move.

False wall allows you to choose depth and hide the TV and cabling too...

thanks for that I have been fooling around with sketchup and come up with this...

Yep, that's the idea- no structural messing and completely reversible if you change your mind. Not to mention neater and cheaper ;-)

Space for a centre channel too. Or a good soundbar instead...
