Looking to purchase a camcorder in the near future, but after doing a bit of research on the matter I find my self more confused than when I started. So any help would be very much appreciated.

At the moment I’m looking at the Sony DCR-1P7 or DCR-1P55 as the man in the shop made these new Micro-MV’s sound very good. He said you could record in MPEG 2 the same format as DVD and the ability to send films via E-Mail.

Is this type of camcorder the way forward in home camcording or should I take a look at some other formats, like the Mini DV range instead of the Micro MV.

At the end off the day, what I want to achieve with my recording is to

    Copy to

    VHS Tape

    DVD Disk

    Save on my hard drive

Send via E-Mail. (Also, when on the move using my laptop if possible)

So does it matter what camera I get or does some of it depend on the P.C software, which takes me to my second question. What is a good easy product, that would help to do these things?
    All help woud be appreciated
    Thanks
    Michael
