    Hi everyone

Just received a late xmas pressy - Nikon D40 with 18-55 and a 70-300 lens. Never used a DSLR before, or any decent camera for that matter.
Thought I'd share my first feeble efforts.
    Any tips gratefully recieved.
    Cheers

    Really loving the shots!

The second one feels very atmostpheric and the third is a great droplet.

I shot my first DSLR shots on a D80 last night - very amateur but really enjoyed it.

    Keep it up

    Nice one Joe, thanks.

Not sure why it's so enjoyable, but I can feel a new obsession coming on. Always good to learn something new.

Nice shots, and such a variety. It can be surprisingly difficult to catch a cat in mid yawn so good timing.

    Thanks Ryart

My 2 cats are great subjects for learning how to use the camera. I've had the camera a couple of weeks now and I think I'm beginning to get the hang of the basics. I followed advice on another thread and opened a flickr account. Maybe an expert or two (or should that be volunteer unpaid tutors) can see my progress and offer some tips.

I hope I've linked to it correctly
