    Hi,

I have recently purchased some used Tag McLaren gear and was wondering if anyone can point me to where I can download the latest firmware / software update files and the firmware loader program. I remember seeing them on Tag section of IAG website but as we know that webpage is still not working.

I have the following versions of software which I believe is a few versions below the latest:
    AV192R - FW 4.08
    250MR - FW 3.79
    250x3R - FW 3.79

I suppose I should ask the secondary and more important question I have, which is: Is there any point in upgrading to the latest firmware? Particularly in the case of 192R I have, it is a bare bones Audio-ONLY processor with Balanced XLR outputs being the sole option fitted. Nothing video related on it, which is the reason I bought it, to upgrade my AV32RDP. Is it fair to assume that most of the firmware upgrades were for video related issues rather than audio? Or were there enough bug fixes to warrant the use of latest software?

I am aware that I need to purchase DPLIIx license to upgrade to 4.31, which I am still able to get from IAG. I don't use DPLII anyway, so upgrade to 4.10 may be sufficient.

Any opinions and download links or files held by the wise Tag McLaren community, in particular the long standing owners of these wonderful products would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Even the amps have firmware? is that all to do with the Tagbus control side of things?

Yes that is correct. But for the amp it is not so important to use the latest firmware. If the communication works fine you can stay with your current software.

I don't even use the Tagbus so would definitely make no difference to me I was just initially surprised it had firmware thinking it was all 'hardware' but then I completely forgot about the tagbus.

As I rember correctly the changed in the past also the starting senquence. The first generation of 100x5r amps uses 2 relays per channel. With the latest firmware the clicking was a little bit different then before.

Thank you very AMCross and karlknurr for the firmware files.

Just a word of warning to anyone doing this upgrade using a laptop with a USB to RS232 adapter to connect the Tagtronic cable. DON'T DO IT. Use a PC with an actual RS232 serial port.

Does anyone have AV192R FW 4.31 with the DTS Fix by Stevesky?

    Cheers.

    >
    > Copy the files attached to a directory of your choise. eg. C:\dts fix\
    >
    > Rename sharcflasher.abc to sharcflasher.exe
    >
    > Next rename tagtronic.bcd to tagtronic.dll
    >
    > Connect up the BLACK sleeved plug on the tagtronic lead to the av
    > processor TAGTRONIC out socket. Do this wHILE the processor is
    > switched on. Leave the RED sleeved plug diconnected.
    >
    > Load up the sharcflasher.exe utility. Click on the Browse button and
    > pick the "av32d43101-0-2.dsp" file to download. Click OK to finalise
    > selection.
    >
    > Ensure that the comm port setting is correct (com1?).
    > Ensure that the DSP to download to is set to 1.
    > Hit the "Download" button.
    >
    > Hopefully the processor should show "DOWNLOAD" on the front display
