    It's a bit like USB but faster.

    Works in a similar way though.

    sorry to resurrect an old topic, but in order to use firewire do u need nething speical on the computer? someone mentioned a "firewire port" to me, is this a sortof standard feature or is it something i need to go buy??

    Hi,
    It's not normal to have a firewire port on a pc, but you can buy a PCI card with a firewire port on it.
    Also some soundcards(SoundBlaster Audigy) have firewire ports on them.

    look it up on dabs.com I've just ordered the lucent card for £12.
