If anyone is feeling brave and wants to install the Alpha test version of what will be come the next version of Firefox, it's at:

    http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/

Only for those who know the risks and don't mind if it screws up.

Try the Opera browser its pretty rapid as well. I really like the forward and back mouse gestures it comes with as standard. Still like Firefox as well.

Firefox 1.0.6 and Thunderbird 1.0.6 now available, not that I had any trouble with 1.0.5 anyway. :)

This is what I love about Firefox:

    - Just downloaded 1.0.6 in a matter of seconds
    - No re-starting the computer

Why can't all browsers be like this?

Firefox 1.0.7 is now available. :)

Hopefully the 1.5 beta versions of FF and TB will be finalised soon as they look to have some awesome features.

I have recently been having a few problems with Firefox 1.0.7.
When I start the program quite often it wont fully open, there are bits missing and it doesn't work. I have to close it down fully in the Windows Task Manager. When I try to re-open it again, more often that not it's ok. I'm not sure wether it's Firefox 1.0.7 itself at fault or one of the extensions that I have installed causing the problems.

This sometimes happens if a newer version of FF is installed over an older version. If you can I would remove all extensions, then remove & re-install FF, followed by the latest versions of the extensions.

Thanks GaryB. I've re-installed Firefox again and so far it seems ok.

Un-installing Firefox doesn't appear to remove the extensions and they were present when Firefox was re-installed. If I still have problems I'll un-install Firefox and extensions manually, then start afresh.

This is normal. the uninstaller will remove only the Firefox core files. It will leave any extensions, themes and your profile intact. That's why I suggested that you remove and extensions before uninstalling Firefox. Old extensions left over from very old versions of Firefox can cause all sorts of weird problems. They changed things just before the official release to stop this.

Previously, after just un-installing and re-installing Firefox only, the problems did return.

I have now fully un-installed and re-installed Firefox, extensions, themes etc and Firefox has been running problem free for a few days now.

    Thanks for your help.
