I really like Firefox. However, since the last update, I can't access the internet with it!

I use NTL broadband, with Windows XP. I can access the internet with IE, I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, I've even tried giving it new proxy servers to look at, but still it refuses to connect to the internet.

Anyone got any clues? I've tried googling for the problem, but I've not found anything helpful yet.

I've not had any problems with it, how do you connect to the internet and do other browsers like IE work OK? :)

Did you accidentally switch 'offline' on? I did that once :rotfl: Yes really  Doubt you're that slow though :D

    Edit: firewall settings?

Check your firewall settings. Each time Firefox updates on my machine, the firewall treats it as a new program and asks how I want it handling. If yours is the same set up and you've accidently hit deny, then that would do it :)

Thanks for the advice so far, but it's still broken! I connect on a wireless doodad, made by linksys, on a laptop. It used to work, and now it doesn't.

The strange thing is the PC upstairs still works with Firefox wirelessly (which was also updated automatically) and the laptop works with IE, but not Firefox.

    Try this menu combination:

Tools > Options > General (tab) > Connection Settings (button)
and set it to Direct Connection to the Internet. That's what I've got mine on and it works fine.

At worst you could also try
    File > Import
and import your settings from Internet Explorer but you'd lose the data in Firefox unless you backed up your profile. :)
