    Hi Everyone,

Just need something cleared up for me, & to hopefully put this rumour to bed,

A friend of mine came round for a social last night, this was the first time he had seen my plasma so we were having a conversation about, he then ask me if I had any trouble insuring it.
I ask why he said that, And Apparently he ask his house insurance if they covered Plasmas before he got one, And there reply was ' Not unless you want to take out a separate policy for £500'

Apparently this is due to Plasmas being a fire Hazard! And will not be covered under the normal house insurance

Now this is the first I have heard of this, And am pretty sure it is Untrue, Can anyone please confirm this as completely untrue, Before I double check that my plasma is covered under my house Insurance.

    Thanks for your time

    Dan

Ive not heard that, but when I approached an insurance company I asked them about my plasma and they mentioned something to do with a single item being over 2grand so it would be slightly dearer but only by a few pounds a year. How could it be more of a fire risk than a tv or p.c?

    Hi Simg,
I agree with you, But his comments just got me thinking, I just thought I would try to confirm it untrue before I checked with the insurance company.

And above all, I would not have thought Panasonic (or any other company), would release a product to the piblic that would be a fire risk.

    Thanks for your help.

Look where a lot of people hang their plasmas, and you don't think the insurance companies think that the fire below is more of a fire risk?

I reckon your mate had one too many! :)
