Probably no biggy for most of you, but, I just finished Halo!
I know a lot of you finish most of your games within days of purchasing, but for me I've always lost interest in the past and got near the end and never completed a single game.
Having only recently hooked up my pc to my Hitachi Plasma and nice av surround system has definately given my gaming a new lease of life!:D
I must admit, at one point it bordered on being a chore and less pleasurable just to get past those anoying tricky bits which leave you wanting to throw things at the screen!! Anyone else find that?
It was all worth it in the end.
Anyway, must dash, got Max Payne 2 to crack now!
    :D

Well, it's almost 9 hours since you posted that, so you must have finished Max Payne by now :)

I found it an enjoyable game to play and quite challenging in places. I was not blown away graphically since it's essentially 2 years old now compared to recent games but the gameplay was ok.
I'm currently playing Hidden and Dangerous2 and can recomend that singleplayers a real treat and multiplayer quite a hoot. Not tried MP2 yet since it's not meant to be all that long (about 10 hrs I think) so I'll wait till it hits the bargain bins before purchasing.

Talking of Hidden And Dangerous 2, I've started playing Armed And Dangerous recently. The reason? Well, any game that contains a weapon called the Vindaloo Rocket Launcher has just got to be played :D

    Congrats, Stellavision

About twenty-two hours ago, I did the very same. On the Xbox. I think I bought the console last August (yes, over a year ago!), so that's... er... quite a while

Aside from completion of a short-race season in the first MotoGP game (Xbox) and a single run through the PS2's Rez (which I don't think counts, as it was a co-operative effort with my brother!), that's the only game that I've completed this year. Actually, that's the first completed game from any of this generation's consoles! And there's not many from my PlayStation 'collection' that have run all the way through... Of course, it didn't help that I perhaps tripled the number of games held on that format during the last couple of years! D'oh!

Hmm, I could be here quite some time :rotfl:

Ah yes, Halo. Worth it, indeed. I found it a little tricky as I neared the end (though that particular disorientation was probably at least equally down to a lack of sleep and a lot of painkillers!!!), but it was so worthy of attention. For me, the game created a nice feeling of there being 'just that little bit more'. And there was! So now suppose I'm gonna have to get Halo 2. Lousy consoles and their enticing gaming ways...

Very good game, i got alittle bored towards the end, but continued on and the last couple of hours were quite enjoyable, mind you, that coul have been down to the Stella too!

Will this game run OK on a Radeon 9000 or do I need a better graphics card ?
P.S. My processor is an Intel P4 2.53Ghz.

On Normal? If so then it's time to start again. On Legendary. It's a different game entirely - and far, far better.

The amount of sleep lost and Stella consumed to finish it first time round on normal difficulty!!!!
I think I'll wait a while to start again on Legendary.:)
Out of curiosity, what are the major differences between the difficulty settings?

    Enemy AI. That's all.

On Legendary every opponent is a test. Even the little grunts need planning and tactics to defeat, and the Elites...you'll really learn to fear them. When you play on Legendary you realise why they called the game "Combat Evolved".

I suggest for anyone starting the game for the first time that they run the game, at the most, on "Hardcore"(I think that is what it is called), as trying to keep the marines alive on "Legendary" would be really frustrating and would detract from the overall experience and storyline(they've got some interesting one-liners in there - keep them alive to hear them) .

    I think it's 'Heroic'.

Actually I would start on normal, but just treat it as training for the real thing.

I wouldn't recommend anyone starts off on Legendary!

I downloaded the demo and afraid to say it didn't really excite me. I think it's 'cos I'd rather shoot people than alien type creatures - it just seemed to be missing something for me. Perhaps I'm getting picky in my old age !

That's how I felt for the first hour or so. Now I think I'd rather shoot Covenant than pretty much anything else. Strange, huh?

Plus the Covenant are more human than you might think. Listen to the grunts' anguished cries as you tear amongst them, or take out one of the big elites. I just love it when they start panicking.

I was playing co-op Halo on Xbox again last night (Assualt on the Control Room on Legendary is just amazing). They really messed up by leaving co-op mode out of the PC version. Online co-op would have been the best thing in the whole world ever.

If you've got a Cable/xDSL connection then the multiplayer aspect will add a whole new lease of life to the game .

Are you talking to me Ric? I've got broadband, and the multiplayer modes in the PC version are great, but they don't make up for the lack of co-op mode. It would have been amazing playing co-op with 2 players. 4 would have been unbelievable. A sadly missed opportunity, I think.

It was JohnG regarding the multiplayer aspect . Sadly, I could not confirm whether the demo has a multiplayer option, as I pre-ordered the full game .

Willy - I agree that the lack of co-op on the PC version was disappointing . For a game that took so long to develop, it seems that the PC version was given far fewer resources than the Xbox version(just take a look at the 'performance' of this compared to Unreal2, etc.), and to all intents and purposes is an Xbox port with a few features added to lessen the blow . Seems that implementing PC co-op was one potential bug report too many for the Microsoft/Bungie team .
