As expected, Here are the spec's
Couldnt wait for the UK DTS version so I got the R4 which was released this week - It too has DTS-ES (my system flags the ES as Matrix) and all the extras you mentioned apart from the "exclusive" Robbie Williams video ... The PAL picture & DTS "totally rock" as Crush would say ... Paul
I never doubted it.
R4 is dual coded R2+R4 so i'd expect the UK R2 to be exactly the same, but I can't find robbie williams (no loss there then!) R4 comes in a clear 2 disc amaray case with a cardboard slip over cover with metallic artwork.
Loved this in the cinema, glad it has a DTS Soundtrack to hand
Nothing wrong with the DD soundtrack on the R1 version IMO though...
PQ is fine IMO too but only viewing on 28" CRT TV. My opinion may change when the projector arrives later this year...
R1 version gave me an excellent picture on my Panny 200 pj.
There isn't a lot of difference in PQ with R1 vs R2+R4, but R2 does have the edge, the picture looks sharper and less visible mpeg artifacts during the turtle bit, DTS is a bonus too.
i knew if i held out the R2 would have DTS
all we have to do now is wait for someone to mention PAL speed up
Yes but does the Reg2 have the strange halo effect when Nemo and his dad are in deep water in the begining ?
also is the case as nice as the Reg1 and the review for the R2 said there is little differance between the two regions.
PS I heard that the Reg 2 was cut for a head but scene
Can i mention PAL speed up ?
Yes it does because (for the squillionth time) it's meant to be there on all the fish to make them look like they are glowing, as it was when I saw it in the cinema. If it wasn't there then i'd be worried.
Can I mention NTSC 3:2 pull-down judder?
Can anyone confirm if there is only version of this film being released? ie no box set or CE or other combo
Despte the announcement what I find puzzling is why no web site lists dts for the region 2 release ???
CD-WOW mention dts for R2/4 release though.
so is DTS better than DD?
Not that question again!
Most believe dts to be better - as per your calibration disc thread query, you can search the forums.
as per my calibration question i did search the forum as i always do before posting...
and couldnt find a definative answer either way. therefore i was asking for an opinion, not to be told to search
Okay, here's my opinion: dts is definitely better than DD.
thanks, now was that really that difficult to do?
It's just that the question has been asked so many times....
Back to the subject, I'd appreciate it if someone could post a link to a site selling the R2 Finding Nemo DVD and also stating that it includes dts.
