Waiting for pay day and waiting for the right day so I can get 2 months on my credit card.

Even though I have the cash to pay for it I rarely buy stuff on my credit card without being able to pay it off straight away should I wish, so the £600 is sitting in my bank account and the credit card has paid. I hate paying interest!!

They will probably be up to my usual standard  :suicide:

Don't sell yourself so short Steve. The photos you take now are great, some real crackers (especially when you compare them to your tap photo from the 1st comp!)

I ended up getting the Camera kit from Amazon (Amazon themselves, not a resale of a Pixmania model), the lens from Pixmania (via Amazon) and the memory card from PurelyGadgets (via Amazon)

    So, essentially, from Amazon

cheers steve. i like the idea of the 50mm 1.8 lens for the blurred background shots. Reading your post that you've just ordered yours has made me want one even more. I'm clear now that I want the 350d. Prob gonna give it a little while longer till I get one (but not to long I hope!!!! ).

Same here. Although I have the funds in my account, I'm waiting to see what bonus i'll be getting in my pay before ordering as, hopefully, it will be enough so that I can order the camera, 50mm f1.8 lens, memory card and bag all at the same time. Enjoy your camera Steve and POST SOME PICS :smashin:

They advertised this month in Digital Photo that they would match prices from Cameras2u.com and shopping4cameras.com which are their own websites. You may have to push them a bit on this though as they will be pushing their 10% off when you buy a memory card deal.

Worth speaking to the manager and pushing it a bit. I couldn't be bothered so I ordered off the web :)

I opted for a chep Kingston memory card, think it was about £32 + postage

From what i have heard the Extreme III is a great card with increased transfer speed from the card to the PC. I'm not sure the write speeds differ that much to be honest.

Just noticed the Amazon price has come down to under £492. I have emailed them for a refund :D

I would get a ultra II card instead, you can get a 2GB one for about £65.
In tests, the 350D can only write about 6mb/s so you will ony see increased speeds when writing/reading to a PC.

Don't put all your eggs in one basket!

I use a couple of 512mb cards, I'd be gutted if I had one go tits up on me after a days shooting but not half as gutted if it was a 1/2gig card:suicide:

good point, funnily enough one of my friends just said exactly the same thing  .

Although I guess using RAW would only allow for 64 piccies at 8MB per image so reckon will still opt for 1GB.

Why do Amazon keep on lowering the price and tempting me...

I know I want it but I also know the upgrades in the future are going to be a huge money sink...
