I ve finally installed my 435hde and i must say i m blown away!!!!!!!
    It s just awesome.
I can t even imagine a better picture than this.
I ve taken some hd samples and downscaled them to pal and converted them to mpeg2 so i can play them with my pio 575.
All I can say is WOW!!!
I m forward to see how a true HD signal will look like.
I don t have satellite yet but i m going to install one next week so I can t yet tell you how it performs with a highly compressed mpeg2 signal.
Rf aerial signal (with poor reception, looks quite good, far better from what i expected. It s very crt like.
I was only dissapointed with the blacks at first but after almost 100 hours of use they ve become deeper.
I ve upload some pics of my setup which is not completely finished and i ll upload some more when the i get the furniture and the satellite finally installed.

(Pics are not that fair coz they re highly compressed and downscaled)

EDIT: My furniture finally arrived and i ve taken some more photos.
Plus some RF pictures with poor reception.

Wow! Amazing looking PQ. Still waiting till September for the 436.

I assume thats a stud wall? Did you screw the bracket to the studs or through to the block using rawl bolts?

Also, how did you get the cables past any horizontal studs?

It's interesting you say the RF pq is crt-like. There's been a lot of people saying the rf/freeview/sky pq is not that good on pio's, almost putting me off. Is it really not that bad?

oh, whats the diff between hde's and xde' s, apart from the digi tuner?

i've got the xde and the PQ on all is easily as good, if not better, than my 100htz crt, the difference between the fde and xde is the digi tuner and a vga input for a pc I think

just an ob leerock, but did you not prefer the speakers under the panel?

I'm suprised you even bothered with the speakers considering you have a 5.1 setup

    Hi guys.
I m glad you liked my setup, and thanks for your opinions.

yellowpostit: I think rf picture isn t just "not bad". I think it s great.Much better from what i expected after reading these forums.
The difference between them is only the digital tuner as far as i know.

ikon66: i prefer the speakers on the sides.
I ve put them both ways and i liked them on the sides better.
Have you got them on the bottom?
    Any pic?

gizlaroc: perforce the furniture is going to be too tall to cover the wall plugs that my stupid electrician have put too high.(55 cm from the floor).
and i don t want the tv to be too close to the furniture.
But you are right, I may move it a bit lower.

bix:I think the speakers are needful for normal tv viewing.
You don t have to power on the amp every time you sit to hear the news or some other bull**** :)

GeorgePk the most difficult thing if you are building a new house is to find the right spots for your surround speakers and your tv so you can pass some pipes uder the floor and through the wall.
I must say I was a bit lucky on this.
I think it s not a big deal as it looks like.

I have mine under to save the width in a small room, as you may be able to see on my avatar. I would have gone for the black air ones as they fit in with design better, but each to their own.

And I agree about speakers with a 5.1 system, a lot of extra switching for basic tv especially in the am before work :D

I ve got contrast and brightness a bit low for the first 200 hours.
    My settings are:

    Aerial:
    Contrast 18
    Brightness 0
    Colour -1
    Sharpness +1
All enhancements to low except dre to mid which i think it improves contrast a lot.

    DVD:
    Contrast 22
    Brightness 0
    Colour -2
    Sharpness +1

All enhancements to off except dre to mid.( I love dre :) )

    Hi smiffy
    My furniture is custom made.
I ve made the design in photoshop :) and gave it to the cabinetmaker.
It was very difficult to find a store-bought cabinet that would suit my needs
