Got a Panny 42TH-PE30 from JL.

TBH I can't smile wide enough!

I've turned down the contrast & brightness to under halfway along the bars, as recommended by other posters.

I've got an Avia HC disk, can I use it right away or do it give the TV time to run in?

Also, I can't play a DVD in prog scan mode. I've got the component inputs hooked up, the dvd player set to ps mode but the picture is all over the place. What am I doing wrong?

I guess you have a player that doesn't output progressive PAL signals. What player do you have? Try out a region 1 disc to check.

you say youve changed the output from your dvd player to ps......but have you changed the input on the screen itself to component?(at least thats what I have to do on my 434.......)

Not sure how you do that.

Doesn't mention it in the manual, just says accepts component input.

maybe I did not explain myself too well,so I'll use my 434 as an example.........

    Input 3 has several connections:
scart,component,hdmi........depending on which I use,I have to go into the menu on input 3 and manually choose the best option...

    ie....RGB,S-Video,composite,component or HDMI....

in my case its set to HDMI as I have an 868,but it wont work properly if I select the wrong option....... :)
