Thanks to all the great advice on this board I have decided to go with the following:

    Panasonic PWD8 (probably from Av-Sales)
Denon 1906 (bundle deal with the Kef's below...)
    Kef 1005's (from here.)
Snazzio Net HD (already purchased, really like it)

I will be feeding it Sky+ and hopefully either an Xbox360 or PS3.

I was hoping somebody could reinforce my decision making and let me know if I am making a good set of choices, and that I am going to be blown away.

But more importantly I am looking for help getting all this connected in the best way without spending a fortune.
Can anyone tell me *exactly* what cables I am going to need, maybe some prices and/or links. Also, I was hoping somebody could tell me what leads need to go where. I intend to wall mount the Plasma over a fireplace, and have the seperates next to it in a cabinet. I will wall mount the rear Kef eggs and get some stands for the 2 fronts. Not entirely sure where the sub is going yet.

I assume I can run an HDMI (for future proofing) and component to go into the amp. I then assume I can plug the Snazzio DVD and anything else strainght into the Denon AVR?

Any help/hints/tips will be very greatfully received as always - You guys rock

for cables try www.TVcables.co.uk yeah HDMI for future HD use and component for the rest via AMP (you may run out of inputs on the AMP quickly so i suggest running a fully wired DVi-I cable This can carry VGA or HDMI if required to either a VGA input or HDMI input with an appropriate converter at each end if you were to a PS3 and Sky HD you may well need 2 digital HDCP capable inputs

I think you saved my life with that link

    also
I have a VERY silly question and I didn't feel to open a new thread about it

sorry neilhump3 for using your space

I've finally decided to get a panel as well. Not yet sure if pw or ph

-I'll connect my TW tuner to the VGA input via a jstech adapter
    -I'll use one of these
    http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/AD012.html
to connect the tuner audio out to the 3.5mm jack on the plasma
    correct??

    now the question
where the hell are the speakers connectors located??
I checked the manual, but didnt find anything

sorry for being such a n00b

Thanks for the quick response... tbh I really am after a n00b-proof 'this type - that type' kind of help here.
I know I get a load of cables with the Denon-Kef bundle I put a link to in the original, but what goes where and what else will I need?
    I assume I go...

Panel - Component out to Denon Component in? (Do I need to buy a Component terminal block?)
Panel - HDMI out to (nothing at the moment).
Denon AVR - Component out to Component in on Snazzio.
    Denon AVR - Component/??? to XBox360/PS3
Denon AVR - Component out to ??? Sky+

And then where do all the audio leads fit in?

...and can someone give me a YAY!! and say I making the right decisions here?
I only had 2k tops and no AV stuff before (just a 32" JVC CRT) so I really am a complete n00b :)

apart from gtting your "ins" and "outs" the wrong way around (panel only has inputs DVD only has outputs for normal video in this use, and Amp has both ins (from DVd etc) and Out (to panel))

So Xbox 360 Component to AMP + optical digital lead for audio
Snazzio Component to AMP + coax Digital
Sky+ S0video to AMP + optical for sound
AMp component out to VGA input (if you want to connect PC via VGA a component board is good idea)

    HDMi for futue (PS3) use

You will be blown away by the PQ....

Instead of getting a convertor for the sky+ link...

Why not get a better amp that does upconverting...

    The Onkyo 603. (£400)

That way, everything goes to your amp and then its one cable from the amp to the plasma.

I didnt realise I needed to get a convertor??
Why do I need one? Cant I just go S-Video to Amp & Optical for sound as Horny said?
And wont I only have 2 cables into my panel? 1 Component and 1 HDMI?

I am getting confused again... head starting to hurt as always :)

ah my mistake the 1906 converts composite to S-video but not S-video to component you can still route S-video to AMP the on to the free S-video board in panel (just means an extra S-video cable) or you can connect Sky+ direct to panel S-video Onkyo is a deale only tye item where are you based?

there will be a local dealer who can demo you the AMP and most likely do a similar deal (other choice is to go for a 2106) or just go S-video direct Component conversion simplifies connection it doesnt improve PQ

The onkyo 603 doesnt improve the PQ from s-video to component....????

Does the JS tech convertor improve pq????

    ie is one better?

HD - and what does this mean?

I am also a bit confused now...
If I stick with the Denon 1906 do I still need to get a convertor?
What will give the best picture with Sky+?

Sorry i meant you need to go to your local dealer for info on the Onkyo as it isnt a brand that gets hocked around the WEB (Main website has all tech spec) and no video upconversion cant improve the PQ a scaler can but is very different. You can either connect S-video from Sky+ to PLasma S-video input, or get a JS RGB>YUV converter (better PQ as RGB is better to start with) If Amp has conversion you get S-video quaity but only a Component cable to plasma this means (all other source component) no need to switch panel input just switch AMP and the correct video signal is fed to the screen.
