this month as I have about £200 spare woo hoo!! Well my question is do you think i should buy the Sony dvpns705, (I have been umming and arhing about buying this player for months now) or is there anything else better which I could buy for that money? I could most probably stretch to £250 (means I'll have to buy less clothes this month :D :D

    Thank you for your help

I'd keep your money and spend it on DVDs to watch ... or buy more clothes.

Unless you spend >£500 - certainly at least £350 or so for Pio 656sa or Philips 963 ... you're not going to see much if any improvement swapping your 705.

The only exception would be if you have a projector then you **MAY** get better quality swapping your player for a progressive scan capable player.

Sorry misread your original post ... thought you were wanting to upgrade from the 705.

Anyway ... if you're just watching on a standard telly and you don't want DVD-A ... might be worth checking out the Tosh 330 as well as the 520. Might not notice much if any difference in quality their either.

Yup, I agree with sounddog. The tosh 330 makes great sense at £99.

P.s My humble appologies for assuming you were a bloke asteri ;)
