FILTH - Official Teaser Trailer HD (World Exclusive) - YouTube NSFW

Marking the latest big screen adaptation of Irvine Welsh's work, Filth sees James McAvoy leading a stellar cast for writer-director Jon S. Baird's sophomore feature.
With the film set to be released on our shores later this year, Lionsgate have debuted the first trailer, and it's just as red-band and unsuitable for work as you'd expect from an adaptation of Welsh's work.
A bipolar, bigoted, junkie cop manipulates and hallucinates his way through the festive period, until he finally meets his match… himself.
Scheming Bruce Robertson (James McAvoy), a bigoted and corrupt policeman, is in line for a promotion and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Enlisted to solve a brutal murder and threatened by the aspirations of his colleagues, including Ray Lennox (Jamie Bell), Bruce sets about ensuring their ruin, right under the nose of unwitting Chief Inspector Toal. As he turns his colleagues against one another by stealing their wives and exposing their secrets, Bruce starts to lose himself in a web of deceit that he can no longer control. His past is slowly catching up with him, and a missing wife, a crippling drug habit and suspicious colleagues start to take their toll on his sanity. The question is: can he keep his grip on reality long enough to disentangle himself from the filth?
McAvoy is joined by a terrific ensemble, led by Jamie Bell, Imogen Poots, Jim Broadbent, Eddie Marsan, Joanne Froggatt, Emun Elliott, Martin Compston, and Kate Dickie.
Baird is directing from his own script, returning behind the camera for only his second film, after making his debut back in 2008 with Cass.
Welsh's original 1998 novel spawned a sequel a decade later, entitled Crime, and it would be interesting to see if it would get the big screen treatment in turn if Filth proves to be the success we hope it to be. The film marks the fourth adaptation of Welsh's work in cinemas – following Trainspotting, The Acid House, and Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy – and with strong talents on all sides, it's a must-see movie later this year.
Filth is set to be released on our shores this autumn/fall, and we're definitely looking forward to its arrival. Still no word yet on a US release date, but hopefully it will arrive before the year's end, too. For now, here's the first trailer to set the mood. And remember, this is all kinds of red-band, with an 18-rating from BBFC. So be sure to come back later if you're reading this at your desk. Enjoy.

Looking forward to this, loved the book.

I wish they would film Maribou Stork nightmares thats my fave book my him

I enjoyed that one too, my favourite is definetely Glue. The character Juice Terry cracks me up in it, looking forward to see who plays him in Porno.

Been saying this screamed movie adaptation from the moment I read it years ago. But the most important question that everyone must know is..........

IS HIS TALKING TAPEWORM IN THE FILM?????

Saw a preview last week and really didn't like it. This type of thing was fresh around the time of Trainspotting, but now its rather tired. Lots of breaking of the fourth wall and there is a smugness about the film's conviction of how transgressive it is, when these days, it all looks rather tame. There isn't a device or trick I haven't seen loads of times before as the film flits back and forth between fantasy and reality. Watching a loathsome character behaving badly for an entire film just gets boring after a while. Acting is as expected for this type of film, where nearly every character is a caricature turned up to 11.

The one thing I liked was the animated title sequence, but I hate how they now put titles at the end, because apparently audiences may leave if there is two minutes of titles to sit through at the start

Excelent Trailer waiting for this movie...

Have you read the book ? I wonder how it compares

Looking forward to this, even more so considering there's a dearth of decent looking films out this Autumn !

Saw this last night and having both read the book years ago and being a big Welsh fan have to say really enjoyed it. The only thing I was disappointed at was that the tapeworm being replaced, probably due to budget restrictions and the possibility of it looking rubbish on screen. For the most part it remains pretty close in all other aspects albeit in shortened down forms. I was very wary of McAvoy as Bruce as on a personal level I would of preferred Brendan Gleeson as I felt he was more the Bruce I visualised in the book, but feel he won me over and put in probably his best performance of his career so far. 8/10 from me.

Watched it yesterday, hugely enjoyable. Terrific performance from JM. Great soundtrack and struck just the right balance between comedy and tragedy. 8/10

Firstly, not read the book.

Great movie. It felt a bit weird to be so entertained by something that was so unpleasant at times. Great performances by all, and one of the best jump moments in a movie to rank with Jacob's Ladder.

... Might have to read the book.
