I've seen these in mags but can't find anywhere that sells them.

    Any ideas please?

I have used a strap wrench in the past - a bit clumsy but grips well and does the job.

I bought something like this at Makro ages ago for £2.99 or thereabouts.

A Google for "photo filter wrench" will find what you're looking for.

I guess "wrench" is not something we'd normally associate with our expensive toys!

    Jessops have them too.

It appears that there are 2 sizes. I need the larger for the Nikkor 18-70's 67mm diameter.

The Jessops site doesn't say which it is. I'll give my local branch a ring.

    Thanks again.

Final thought if it's urgent, an elastic band wound around the filter will often give enough purchase to free it.

Try a washingup glove from your kitchen.
