Great film, definitely the Empire Strikes Back of the MCU, lets just hope Avengers 4 doesn't have any Ewoks, lol

The only thing now is trying to find time to actually get to the cinema to see this. Even Ed might go...

Why only a 9? This is way better than most that have achieved a 9. This is hands down a 10. I'm not even invested in the MCU, but this, this was truly remarkable.

Yeah, it is a 10, but I've been burned too many by final chapters, and without a great Part 2 I just think it would take the shine off. We need a Return of the King not a Revolutions and whilst I'm optimistic, I'm cautiously optimistic.

The first thing I said to my mate was, I really want another Lord of the Rings, where there's epic scale across films but each stands alone.

I felt this does enough to stand alone.

But agree. I eagerly await next year's release (just how I felt with LotR each year...).

The film is about 2 ½ hours and it seems to finish almost as soon as it has started, (Time flies) it’s that engrossing.

As to the film itself, just one word “Whoa” it really is that good.

Sorry Cas but you have to give it a 10 ,has to be the best Movie of this genre .Humour was superb great storyline/action scenes and the end makes you salivate for next part. I also watched this in Imax 3D well worth the extra cash as this was what 3d was for totally immersive in CGI .

Absolutely brilliant. Very funny, the action is brilliant, the villain is even good!

I loved this film. Possibly the best of the Marvel films - even better than Civil War

Great review - agreed with all of it. Only slight mis step for me was a bit of CGI overload at one point but the film earned it by being sooooooo good

Stay for the end credits obviously when you go and see it, they are great as well!

Great review Cas, always great being able to read your thoughts without worrying about getting the movie spoiled in the process. Just booked my tickets to see it in IMAX 3D next week, oh man i can't wait :D

      Thank you Cas,
Annoyingly a cinema trip is unlikely for this one, but I shall be getting it on release day!
Now I have to try and avoid spoilers!

Excellent review and a great point raised. Despite what the Russo's have said during the press tour for this film, it really did feel like a Part 1 of 2. Given the impact and nature of
Infinity War's conclusion, a disappointing follow up would undermine this movie imo. Hopefully it won't come to that.

      A couple of thoughts:

Think most of us accept that Avengers 4 will involve some sort of deus ex machina that will restore all those wiped out by Thanos, but do any of you expect Loki & Gamora to return? They were killed before Thanos attained all the infinity stones so could (should?) remain dead.

Also telling that the original Avengers lineup from 2012 all survived this movie. Indicates the heroic end some have predicted for Stark or the good Captain may happen in the next film?

Finally, Thor's triumphant arrival to Wakanda may be my favorite MCU moment. Just wonderful.

      It’s a full on 10/10. Without a shadow of a doubt.

The crown jewel of the MCU and they should be very proud of this and the previous 10 years getting to this point.

A great review Cas of a fantastic, roller coaster ride of a movie. Perfectly dove tailing into the rest of the MCU canon. Totally agree with your take on Thanos, a vilian with depth, character and justifiable history. Wonderful stuff.

Totally agree. Didn't want to mention it in the review but:

There's no way that they're going to leave ALL of those heroes dead. Sure, some of them, but not an entire team. I almost think they overplayed their hand by killing so many as it gives away the fact that it's all going to be undone. They actually could have gotten away with killing some of the others and still pulling off the bluff, but it's gotta be a Dallas moment, which kind of gives things like the end of credits stinger slightly less impact.

What a superb film, really enjoyed this , an easy 9.5 out of 10 with a slight downgrade for a bit too much cgi in a few places, Dr strange is excellent throughout imo, cant wait to see it again, and for the next films whatever happens next

A great villain in Thanos, not to mention his crew. The cg on him was top drawer.
