File sizes for upload

    Im new to DSLR and have the Nikon D40. I could do with some help when trying to upload a photo. I made the picture smaller to 800x800 but the file JPG size is 210kb and the forum limit is 120 kb how do i reduce that part. Dont shout at me chaps

    The forum limit is 200kb for embedded images. (you can embed form the likes of http://imageshack.us/ ) If your pic is 210kb then thats close enough to 200k not to be a problem.

    The limit is 120kb for images you upload as an attachment.

    Never...:nono: we dont do that around here;)



    200Kb (X 800 Pixel longest side) is the stated size for embedded images but around that is ( as stated above) quite acceptable

    We all have the worry about compression making the displayed image look underwhelming:D I haven't quite sussed out the ideal way myself

    If you like you can leave it as a link as some images look so much worse with compression
    or
    You can link a small embedded image to a larger more impressive one hosted on your webspace
