Following earlier advice I've settled on a Sony TRV238 Digital Hi8 but have one last question before I enter the camcorder world.
Assuming I will be using Pinnacle Studio to capture the footage from the camera I then intend burning it to cd'd for viewing on the PC.
What choice of formats will I be able to save the footage as and how many minutes worth will a 700 meg cd take. I've read that its as low as 18 mins but surely this can't be the case as I have Divx movies at near dvd quality crammed onto them.

    Thanks

    Mick

You would normally burn your finished product in MPEG2 format. These can be very large indeed, but I have 5 minute MPG's that are no more than 80MG in size, so that would suggest almost an hours worth of video would be possible.
