    For sale:

    Fiio E11 headphone amplifier
Fiio L3 30pin line out cable
    Additional 1500mA battery (+ original 800mA)

Boxed etc, great condition. Cannot find the rubber band supplied (to secure the amp to an iPhone or Touch etc)

This has been used for perhaps less than 4 hours in the year I have owned it, as some peasant stole my nice headphones (yet didnt take this?). I say this as I do not know the actual condition of the batteries. I have charged the high capacity one on occasion. I am sure they're fine, but I feel happier mentioning this.

Looking at my Amazon history, the sum total of this order was over £70, and remains so by today's prices.

    £35 + insured delivery (@ circa £5????)

    Location: Exeter
I have read the trading rules and agree to abide by them at all times until the transaction is concluded to the satisfaction of all parties involved : Yes.

    3) Valid e-mail address (no disposable addresses such as @gmail or @yahoo for example).

DO NOT proceed with a deal until you are completely satisfied with all details being correct. It's in your best interest to check out these details yourself.
Also we advise that the vendor post images of the items for sale. This helps your sale by showing the condition of the goods prior to dispatch.

    Hi.
Thanks for your enquiry. For the moment I would like to try and sell as a bundle however.

That's a shame I was looking to upgrade from a Fiio E06 and already have the 3.5mm > 3.5mm and iPhone connection cables.

    Not to worry.

I understand, but similarly I do not wish to be left with a battery and cable that have little to no worth without the amp and will thus end up binned.

    Steven,

You know what it's like on here....casually browsing the threads, minding my own business and next thing you know a real deal appears in the classified ads.

Whereas Dick Turpin wore a mask, you have been nothing but genuine and steadfast and it's a veritable bargain for someone on here. I have no idea if this will be an improvement/gain over my older FiiO, but I think it's worth a punt....perhaps tomorrow. Thanks.

I am sure I am only teaching you to suck eggs here, as you know it is a popular analog amp. My own findings were just as predictable as any amp/speaking pairing. I have quite a few pairs of headphones (I have a 'thing/problem' with headphones and subwoofers, incidentally I a sub on the classifieds lol, hawking my goods lol) and invariably if we took (i.e) my iPod Touch as the control model source (which has a less than spectacular, but nonetheless perfectly serviceable on-board amp) then if you compared the output using low impedance cans, then the differences would be relatively marginal. Compare the output when using a high impedance pair and the difference was boarderline epic, and that's all I can really offer. The output (vol) is very high, (there is an internal jumper switch located in the battery compartment for better impedance matching) and whether you require the 3 stage bass lift (off/low/high) is matter of pure taste.
    And that's about it really.

Thanks for the detail, it's much appreciated if not wholly understood. I currently use my baby FiiO with two sources, namely my iMac and iPhone both of which (to my ears( benefit from the E06 amp paired with B&W P5 'phones.

Let me sleep on it, but my view is for £35.00+shipping it's not a disaster if it doesn't meet my needs.

    Cheers

    Chris

Basically, cheaper headphones tend to be of a lower impedance, as this (generally) generates a higher output (volume) thus low impedance headphones will work with a variety of devices and ensure a general compatibility (i.e TVs, iPods, laptops, you get the idea)
Generally more expensive headphones will have a higher impedance. These require much more oomph so to speak to drive and control properly and also to give the same relative output/volume.
If you look up the impedance of your headphones and they are relatively easy to drive then I would be quite prepared to accept the major differences you might notice are a higher volume (this amp can go loud) and the ability to increase the bass output (via the switch) over any night and day quality differences.
Of course, I do not know your amp and perceived 'quality improvements' are always relative to the individual. It may well be that the E11 is an overall quality improvement by component design. All I know is that when I looked into into it, going by the reviews (HeadFi.org etc) it was considered to be the best analog bang-for-buck amp out there (I was not interested in on board DACs) otherwise I wouldn't have bought it.
Have a read on, there are a couple of very good headphone sites out there, I am sure you will find a comparison between yours and my amp. Fiio are very popular. (I've just bought the discontinued A1 desktop amplifier for my son and his PC speakers.

Collect Plus website showing that attempted delivery was yesterday and a card was left. However no card was left, (I've double checked) so spoke with them and fingers crossed out for delivery again today.

    OK
I am sure all, will be OK. Please keep me informed. I will intervene if you think it might help. Worst case scenario we are covered to £50 insurance (let's hope it doesn't come to that) I realise CollectPlus does not have the best reputation, but other than FedEx or UPS, who does these days? I have never had an issue with them thus far and use them pretty much exclusively these days.

    Steven

I am out for a few hours now, but will check back in early afternoon, to see if there is any progression.
