Has anybody else seen this yet? Watched my copy today, impressions:

    The film:
    Script/Screenplay
Its your basic Korea vs Japan martial arts movie, loosly based on korean martial arts legend Choi Bae-dal life, who in turn took the ulitmate Japanese Samurai (in my book at least) Miyamoto Musashi as his role model. Those who don't know, Musashi traveled round Japan beating the :censored: out of any worthy challenger. Bae-dal did the same, except with his fists.

    Action
The usual crazyness going on, with a reassuring number of "oh my god" and "did you see that" moments, most (if not all) appear to be wire free. Its just a shame that the fights do not go on long enough for my tastes, but this it is far more realistic because of this.

    Transfer:
    Video
Another top notch region 3 transfer, a lovely levels of colour, contrast, both subtlety used.

    Audio
DTS & DD 5.1 soundtracks are present, only tried the DTS mix so far. Its very similar to the house of the flying daggers, without any of the show pieces, save a nice bit with some taiko drums.

In summary it seems like they took three virtually unrelated short stories about Bae-dal and tacked them together, the middle bit seems strongest scriptwise to me, with the majority of the action happening in the final third.

I watched this last weekend and loved it, I have been watching quite a few Korean movies of late (My Sassy Girl, The Classic, Il Mare, Failan, Lovers Concerto, My Boss My Hero and Sex is Zero and some others) and this was like the others a great flick.

From start to end I was captivated by the awesome transfer which helped pull me in deeply into the story. The DTS track while good is very heavy on the front three speakers. However I take it the fights scene have very little basis in fact as no human could do the things he did.

I loved the training montage some of it just looked so painful.

The site I ordered from dosn't show a stock status and you have to pay by bank transfer or paypal.

I took a risk anyway and ordered and paid via paypal, if it wasn't in stock im sure there wouldbn't of been a problem getting a refund.

Its US$ 32.75 and another US$ 22 for shipping which was £30.49 not as cheap as YesAsia was doing it for but a lot cheaper than the US$ 129.95 HK Flix are doing it for http://www.hkflix.com/xq/asp/filmID.531930/qx/details.htm

I have emailed the place I ordered it from to see what stock they have left and will let you know when i get reply.

I could not track it down on their site?,

I wish CD-wow did a lot more dvds from HK, korea, Japan, as their serivce is second to none, and delivery is so fast. I rather use them only.

I got, Fighter in the wind (2 disc), Sword in the moon, and Ong bak on order from yesasia.

    Hi,

What did you guys think off this film?

The pic and sound from what i remember were great.

The story was not bad, and the action good, but always ended short for my liking, like the final battle.

And at the end of it all, i could not make my mind up if i enjoyed it or not. It was far from average, but it was not great.

I would off loved to see a longer fight between the main man and the guy with this hair over one eye, but it was one sided, as the main chacter Choi i think was not fit, and the other guy has a sword!.

The film looks fantastic, and the direction is excellent. 8/10.
