I have just got the SE of the 5th Element (http://www.fox.co.uk/home_ent/synopsis/fifth_element_he.html)

But the DTS sound track is all broken up on HCPC system.

I send coaxial from SpDIF to Denon amp and have used DTS before with no problems.
PowerDVD 4 claims DVD DTS is 5.1 at 1536Kbps.

Got a Creative Platinum Live basic card that has been perfect up to now but don't know if it has ever had to deal with full bit rate DTS.

DVD plays fine on Pioneer DVD in DTS mode - any ideas ?

Try a different player on your HTPC. I too have this problem with PowerDVD and The 5th Element SE's DTS track on my HTPC and someone else in another forum has said the same thing. Try WinDVD. I actually use it's codecs with Zoom Player and that plays it ok for me.
