Over two minutes to VAR check that second goal and they're now saying it was offside - I didn't think so.

And now it is 2-0. Renard, looking not dissimilar to being a sister of Virgil van Dijk, scores a very van Dijk-like goal with a header from a corner.

I've noticed the bbc commentary seems slightly out of sync with the picture, it's particulary noticeable when the goals go in.

Half-time in Paris at 3-0 and there simply is no chance for South Korea and with the foot just before the last defender to me has to be onside, I do not know how VAR can rule it out, the second goal.

Okay then it would have been 4-0 but that isn't the point - VAR should be beating the naked eye for correct decision - I'm not convinced that it always does.

    Genuine question:

    It's the Women's World Cup.

So why are the teams listed (on BBC at least) as France Women, Norway Women, Spain Women etc.

The name of the competition says it all so why aren't the teams simply called France, Norway, Spain?

    Cheers,

    Nigel

    Not a Scooby.

But there's nothing on the main BBC channels this evening so...

Women’s World Cup 2019 fixtures: Full tournament schedule, results and match dates

That says Germany v China is live on BBC1 - is it fudge because they've already played!

oh well... Germany Women have beaten China Women 1-0 and Spain Women are drawing 1-1 with South Africa Women!

Norway Women play Nigerian Women at 8pm but I don't know where I can view it.

Gotta be better than The Voice Kids, right?

Now watching Spain v South Africa LIVE via BBC Sport app.

Just been a sending off, pen kick and South African down to ten men women.

2-1 Spain and they've come from behind!

Brazil v Jamaica is a good game. Half time but some lovely skill on display from Brazil.
Hope I haven’t cursed the second half...

Edit - really good match. Jamaica better than the scoreline suggests and unlucky not to get a goal. Brazil looked very strong, passed nicely.
Good use of goal line technology too.

Was hoping there was a game to view this evening. Nothing after Dragon's Den on BBC2 or on the BBC Soort app.

Noticed that the BBC have stopped referring to the teams as '<country> Women' now.

    Cheers,

Crowds are pretty poor when you consider females are the majority in most countries.

And all these people whinging about USA's conduct in celebrating their goals should have a word with themselves. If it was a mens game I doubt whether we would be hearing the same so it's pretty much indicative of a faux, veiled sneer at the woman's game.

It's a world cup competition where the reality is that the Thailand team simply weren't good enough and the governing body have over-extended the competition. Previously, when Thailand beat Malaysia 11-0 they didn't take their foot off the gas so why should USA do the same?

You can't blame the USA for being clinical and scoring as many goals as they like. You can feel sorry for Thailand, sure, but the stark fact may be that they simply aren't up to the skill level currently required.

The Brazil v Australia game was a bit special. Australia came from 0-2 down to win 3-2.

Last evening the French beat Nirway 2-1.

How England aren't ahead in this game is quite unbelievable and Messi has been anonymous so far.

"The goalkeeper is in electrical form". More shocking commentary by Pearce.
