I've just ordered a replacement to my 63 Fiesta Zetec, and fancied an upgrade to the Titanium X.
I got a good deal on a model in stock with built in SatNav (exactly what I was looking for and the colour I wanted too).

I really like the look of the partial leather seats as standard in the Titanium X, and have sat in them previously and found them really comfortable.

However, having just checked the order form.. I've noticed the dealer has added £250 for black leather.... which would appear to be the optional full leather seats. The overall price is as we agreed, but I'm wondering if we've misunderstood each other and I'm getting something I'm not sure I want.
The dealer may have just used it as a way of meeting my price demands, and some might say I have an even better deal if it does indeed have full leather... it should be an extra £250.

But my fears around full leather are simply that it would be slippery... the partial leather variant is cloth right under your backside and I like the fusion of luxury and grip.

Does anybody hear have a Fiesta Titanium X with full leather seats? What do you think of them?
I'd like to know if my fears around them being slippy are justified and whether I should cancel the order tomorrow.

Thanks

The seats hold you quite tightly and are not really that slippery, with a matte finish to them. The seat design keeps you well anchored even when cornering on the door handles!

I would not worry on either score. We bought B-Max and within the agreed price got keyless entry and parking sensors at no extra cost.

Thanks for that. Maybe I'll stop worrying about it and it'll be a surprise when I pick it up in a few weeks.

I'm a very slim build though ... Hopefully it’ll be a nice surprise either way.

Do you like the leather seats? Or would you choose cloth next time?

I've always had cloth seats until my most recent car, a VW Passat which I had for 3 months. It had leather and I wasn't impressed at all. They felt much softer than the cloth equivalents and on longer journey's I would find myself shifting around in the seat to get comfortable. Despite the heated seats, I found them either freezing or too warm when I got in, something I'd never experienced with cloth.

In saying all that, I've just changed jobs and the spec of the car (Volvo) I'm possibly choosing comes with leather as standard. o_OI've currently got a demo vehicle but it has cloth. o_O so I'm in a similar dilemma to yourself!
I did sit in one earlier with leather seats and they felt much firmer than the VW's I've just had.

I don't mind if the seats get cold, in fact I'd prefer it as it feels fresh and the car would soon warm up anyway.

Slippage at any time and sweatiness on hot days are my biggest worries with full leather... something I think the partial leather seats manage to overcome with cloth in the 'sweaty' areas (bum and lower back).

I think I got good a deal either way, and I'm keen to get the car soon as it fits in with my insurance renewal date, so I can see me going ahead.
I'd just be disappointed if the seats turn out to be full leather and I find them hot, sweaty and slippy.

TBH, I always wear a jacket over my shirt when in a car with leather seats. They certainly don't wick away moisture as effectively.

Our old Honda had shiny leather seats - which you slipped around in, but my old V50 had more textured seats and was more comfortable. The Ford seats are very good, but for me Fiesta seats feel quite narrow - particularly as I now have a Passat with arm chairs in the front!!

I've used Ford's website to check the details of the vehicle based on the chassis number, and it looks like my worries maybe unfounded.... it indicates the vehicle is not full leather.

Unless that's a mistake (hopefully unlikely) then I'll be a happy bunny. The partial leather seats are really nice.

How do Ford word these things? Often you see 'leather seats' and a note to point out some parts of the seats are not leather. That can be worded the way you indicate. It doesn't always state what the non leather bits are. It is usually fake leather. If it states 'leather/fabric' with no note, that would seem to be what you prefer? I hope they mean what you prefer here though :)

Driven several cars with full leather, never slipped around in them and I'm a slim build.

Do still remember my legs sticking to my dads old ford escort when I was young, think the quality of the leather has moved on a long way since then.

Got a Fiesta Zetec S with full leather. Absolutely no problem, and the heated seat option is great in winter.

I picked up the car earlier this week, and it has partial leather seats as I'd hoped...and they're lovely.

Also the 125bhp ecoboost engine is a beast. I'm a leasurely driver and never really owned a car that kicks you up the backside when you need to accelerate quickly.

This thing really shifts, it's quiet on the motorway (due to much higher gearing than my previous model), and it's more economical. It even has an ECO button to reduce power and increase economy further.

The built in satnav is a bit disappointing (3 out of 5 postcodes I wanted to store as favourites weren't in its database), but it still beats sticking my phone to the windscreen and destroying its battery.

I love this little car and expect I'll be keeping it for a long time.
