Can anyone help with setup for Zoomplayer using FFdshow filters and Powerdvd 6 filters to play Pal titles.

    I think I need a registry hack.

Do I also need any special settings in FFdshow.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

'Fraid I've never seen a registry hack for the PowerDVD codecs .. Sonic, nVidia and WinDVD yes, but Cyberlink no.

As Kragorn has said, and when i was using the PDVD codecs (V5) i didnt have to change anything in the registry to play either NTSC or PAL material.

I do have to for the NVidia codecs though.

Interesting Inzaman, I've always believed the problem with PAL to be that FFDSHOW needs telling it's handling PAL and that 'telling' is done by the codec, hence the need for a registry setting for the codec .. if you really did play PAL iwth PowerDVD without such a setting (which I have no doubt you did :) ) thenit implies the codecs work it out for themselves.

Cablecar: can we just be clear, you CAN play NTSC DVDs with FFDSHOW, right? And you CAN play PAL without FFDSHOW?

Yes Kragorn the only time i have had to change the registry settings was when i started to use the NVidia codecs.

At first it they wouldnt work with PAL so i had to insert the PAL line into the registry. With PDVD codecs there was no registry setting changes required, i will just double check once i get a new hard drive as my hcpc has recently died

Thats for all the interest and replies.

Yes I can play Ntsc with FFdshow filters, but not Pal.

Well apart from that registry setting I've never had any problems playing PAL DVDs .. that forum discussion Gerbil linked to seemed to cover it. :(

cablecar, if you are wanting to play pal material then use the pdvd 5 codecs or even better buy the nvidia ones, they both definitely work as i have used them, am currently using the nvidia one.

It could be an issue with the pdvd 6 codecs and zp/ffdshow.
