Never tried ffdshow (just read a bit about it here)

Can it be used with Intervideo's WinDVD 6
and would it make any difference ?

If it can be used with WinDVD 6
    Could anyone advice how ?

    Many thanks

Just looked at using ffdshow with some other DVD playback software, and in the options of other DVD playback software progs you have options to use external renderer (for example) there does not seem to be any option in WinDVD to do this kinda thing.

As far as I know, you cannot use FFDShow with WinDVD on it's own. You must use Zoom player with WinDVD filters

    Check this out at AVS

Now you know as much about it as I do :D

I use Theatertek with FFDshow...very simple to use

    Thanks for that Comer.

    I can't run TheatreTek anymore.
My new machine is an AMD64 running XP home and SP2 installed.
On my old machine it ran fine, on my new machine TheatreTek opens and closes instantly. No idea why. Poss Service Pack 2 ?

Is it actually worth messin around the FFDSHOW in the 1st place.
Will it actually make WinDVD look any better ?

It would be worth asking about TT and SP2 on the theatertek forum. I have not installed SP2 on my HCPC yet as I have also heard of problems with TT and the upgrade.

I ahve tried all the resize stuff and really could not notice any great difference so I just use gradual denoise and sharpen and they do improve the pq a bit. It's really down to opion as to wheather it is worth it or not

About WinDVD6, have you tried it Hidef material and if so how does it perform. Also is there an option to adjust overlay in WinDVD6
