got a few questions on blu-ray

will i notice quite a diffrence between bluray and dvd as i only have a philips widescreen (50hz) (model 28pw6518) ?

as bluray discs will be equipped with dts++, is dts++ backwards compatible with dts-es etc? say for instance i want to play a bluray movie, as my amp can only produce dts-es will a dts++ encoded disc display and play a dts-es soundtrack on my amp

    thanks in advance!

Conjecture really as I haven't seen it in actionm, but Bluray is the recording medium. It could be used to record standard definition or high definition. With hi-def you should notice a picture difference on your set, but the bigger the display the more obvious it will become.

As for DTS , they are saying that the future formats will be backward compatible.
ie Your current amp won't be able to playback the new standards but it will be able decode the formats it currently can from the bluray disc.
