Just out of curiousity does any one know who makes Ferguson branded products.
Ling Wing Ding from Shanghai.
yeah Thomson is part of Ferguson.
T'other way around - Ferguson is part of Thomson.
Most of the cr*p comes outa China and the like though.
hmm well my old ferguson i got before the philips 9509 said on the back-
made in France. not the capital of china im sure
And that's good?
Back in the 80's and into the early 90's, Freguson were part of Thorn. Their TV's were well made and gave good service. Their VCR's were JVC and were equally as good.
Sometime in the early 90's, can't remember the exact year (and can't be arsed to look it up) Thomson bought the Ferguson brand from Thorn. They very quickly went from good, reliable stuff to utter cr*p. Anyone remember the FV31 VCR's or the ICC5 TV's?
Thomson are indeed French. They can't make decent cars and they certainly can't make decent consumer electronics.
Their products may or may not say 'made in France' but I very much doubt that's true. Some may be assembled in France but I think you need to look a little further east of Gay Paris to find where they're actually made.
WYSIWYG is certainly not true in this industry.
