Thought I'd get this up and started as there are at least two of us with them on order from Currys.
Mine should be delivered at some point tomorrow, I'll be taking pics and posting my initial thoughts soon after no doubt!
Hopefully we'll be lucky and get good sets from the off!

A little late with this update, but the issue with the menu bar on the Netflix app has been resolved. As of today it's still a problem with the Amazon Instant app.
LG EG960V owners and discussion thread |...
Just thought id start this thread in anticipation of new owners in the next day or two, this is to provide feedback on the player and discuss video/audio performance and media capabilities in practise for reference for owners and any potential owners. I expect mine in the next few days.
Might also be worth mentioning what equipment you have connected to the player just in case any common issues arise!

I decided this weekend to try and quieten my PC by following some other members lead and going down the water cooling road. The fans on my PC were really starting to drive me mad
The first thing that I did was to remove all the fans. The one on the processor and graphics card were no problem but the one in the power unit was a bugger to get out.
The most difficult part was sealing all the ventilitation openings in the PC case with silicon. I also put silicon all around the joints on the PC case. The smell of silicon was dreadful but when my wife complained I told her to be patent as it will be worth it when we have a completely silent PC.
Because I had completely sealed the PC case the only opening near top was the DVD drive. So I opened that and put the small hose I had purchased specially for the job into the DVD drive as far as it would go. With what I can only describe as great excitement and anticipation, I turned on the water. It really is amazing just how long...

Now this looks very interesting:-
Arcam has unveiled its first Dolby Atmos AV receivers at CEDIA Expo 2015. The new AVR550 and AVR850 models feature seven HDMI 2.0a inputs with HDCP2.2, as well as high-end room correcting technology from Dirac Research. The pair feature three HDMI outs, two for dual display use and a third for multiroom. System control is offered through IR, RS232, IP and Arcam's own iOS MusicLife app. The duo also mark the return of the volume knob to Arcam’s AVR design.
Both receivers are 7.1 designs - the headline AVR850 offers Class G amplification. Arcam has told Inside CI that it is also working on a four channel power amp for those users looking to install a 7.1.4 Atmos configuration. The receivers are also DTS:X ready - and will be firmware upgradable as and when the software becomes available. In the meantime, the focus is very much on Dolby Atmos.

Lets compile a complete list of manufacturers of home cinema speaker systems available to buy over the counter in the UK.
The speakers must be auditionable before you keep them.
So they must be available from shop or by mail order with a full money-back guarantee. And they must be designed for use as complete 5.1 (or 6.1/7.1) setups.
Please reply with additions which I will edit in.
We are now taking comments from owners. Please reply here with your exact configuration and experiences owning these speakers..
I thought it might be a nice idea to have a thread with AVForums content recommendations by users on here. I'm sure there are lots of little known gems on there waiting to be discovered.
Basically post the title of what you have watched,a short review and a rating out of 5.
Let's stick with things that you WOULD recommended rather than things that you wouldn't.
I'll kick things off...
THE KING OF KONG
Documentary looking at a battle between two retro gamers competing for the world record on Donkey Kong. Yup it's just as geeky as it sounds and will certainly involve plenty of cringing at some of the people and just how obsessed they have become with Donkey Kong consuming their lives.
Funny documentary though and filmed in a way to very much pit good against evil.
This is a continuation of the LG B6 OLED TV Owners and Discussion thread from here:

Please use this thread to list BDs or the forthcoming UHDs that really look the business on an OLED TV. Pictures of these on your OLED TV also welcome.
Thought it might be a good idea to post price drops in here for UHD 4K Blu Ray under one thread that have dropped in price or a bargain price.

As these are now out and no one has setup an owners thread I'd thought I'd be the first
I've had mine since Wednesday courtesy of Ricky at kalibrate and thought I'd post my thoughts so far as there's been a lot of pleasure and a little bit of pain. The main pain coming from the linker which Ricky is going to look into but shouldn't be an issue (top man).
First the good points. The picture, it's gorgeous plain and simple. I do not have a bat cave just a normal lounge with blackout curtains and the black level is very good indeed. The thing with black level is it's hard for me to judge as I'm used to oled blacks. I can however compare it to my last projector which was a JVC X3 and when compared to that its as good as if not better.
Ultra Hd blurays are just amazing. The thing is its taken a few days and a lot of tweaking to find settings I like and After a lot of messing I actually like HDR on this. I find with HDR on this projector I use the bright cinema setting with...
