    Open discusion.
A question I am often asked by people seeing my home cinema set-up for the first time is, "what is my favourite film"?

My answer to that is The God Father and The Fifth Element.
I would like to know the favourite film or films from members of this Forum.

Depends on my mood, but 'Midnight Run' and 'North By Northwest' are always there or thereabouts.

I used to always give a list when people asked me what my favorite film was. After careful thought I finally got it down to one movie:
    Spaceballs

Having grown up during the 80's with star wars being such a large part of my life (toys, movies, books, lunch box etc) having a spoof on it really hit home.
And I still love it to this day.

    Leon.

Can someone tell me why they like the Fifth Element so much? I mean I thought it was good but I'd give it 7 out of 10. I didn't see anything very special about it.

    Which is the Ultimate Edition?

I have the limited ed. tin

    My fave films are

    Raiders of the lost arc
    Fifth Element
    Oceans Eleven
    High Fidelity
    Snatch

I would like to say 2001:Space Oddisey is my favourite film, but its not really a film I can enjoy over and over. I like to think of it as my favourte movie "artistically" or something like that :) ..

Daneel: As to why so many people like it so much i dunno, in my case i guess its just because Its one of those films I can put on and just ignore it and watch it time and time again, plus the picture quality is the best ive ever seen on dvd imo, its my film of choice to show off the video side of my kit.

My favourite film i've seen recently is "The Pianist", my favourite film historically is either "Battleship Potemkin", "Citizen Kane" or "Seven Samurai". Between those 3 films everything you see today owes them a huge debt.
