Is it just me or is there something particularly satisfying when playing the 20th Century Fox opening fanfare, at the start of a movie, at reference level. There's a particularly good version on the Moulin Rouge DVD. It's little things like this that make owning a home cinema system really worth it!

Anyone else agree, or am I just mad?

Does anyone else have a particular favourite?

You're not mad, I noticed the same thing :D

The 20th Century Fox opening on Star Wars is also pretty good...

And of course, I suppose it's worth mentioning the THX Clips you get on such certified discs.

My pet hate is the old New Line Cinema and Miramax openings, which were awfully cheap and in Mono :(.

I like Universal’s and the way the sometimes alter the globe like in Waterworld when the ice caps melt and cover the world in water.

I like the Lady (columbia), Universal, Fox is cool as well, dreamworks isn't too bad either. EIV, Miramax and New line are boring.

As for changing the logo as the start of a film. The Mummy did it pretty well. the trailer for MIIB as well
WB is cool for Matrx and Swordfish (similar logo distortion)

The 20th Century Fox Fanfare always reminds me of Star Wars. I also like when they alter openings like that for specific films. The Indiana Jones films spring to mind. Ooh and the Universal globe for Baseketball. :smashin:

    Morning,

Yep, the original Pearl & Dean tune is still the one that does it for me as well! There's nothing like that piece of music to really get you into a movie-watching mood!

    Hi chaps

Noticed the Dreamworks intro at the start of The Ring. As the screen pans along to the moon, the screen flickers and briefly shows the dark ring over the moon.

    Blink and you miss it...

    Cheers
