Favorite commentators no holds barred!

Have to say mine are Jack Burnical and Jamie Whitham on Sky Eurosport for the World Superbike stuff, laugh a minute.

End of the second race and the camera pans to the crowd, as usual it picks out a nice looking young lady wearing very little and Jack says "As fine a race as those pair of thighs in the middle of the picture" :rotfl:

:offtopic: I then turn to BBC to watch the end of the Golf and I'm listening to the commentary as Ernie Els is about to take a shot, it mentions that his mum died very recently (beginning of the month or something) and he's apparently said he thought/felt she was watching over him!
Takes the shot and it lands off target in the rough and Peter Allis says " I guess his mum must have popped out for a cup of tea" or something to that effect:eek: :thumbsdow

It was about Di Marco, not Els....I can't agree about Allis though, he is pure quality.

Peter Alliss is the best commentator still going, part of the best "team" of commentators the beeb (or any one else) has ever had. Bill McLaren on the rugger and John Arlott on cricket.

Not a big cricket fan but I do like it when commentators get the giggles here's a nice one from 91 with Brian Johnston and Jonathan Agnew:)

I don't know about favourite commentator, but Gary Lineker could at least try to sound interested in the golf...

As a cricket fan I rather like Michael Atherton who is the complete opposite in the commentary box of the dour figure that he cut as a cricketer.

Ryder was the man for the golf!! Excellent. Pity he's slumming it now on ITV.

I like Lineker for the football.

Also love watching golf when Alliss is on - pure class and shows why most of the old school commentators are far better than the new kids on the block.

Won't pick out anybody in particular on the cricket scene as I always enjoy listening to them. Used to listen to cricket on the radio years ago and it was even better - God they chat about everything!!! (suppose they'd have a lot of dead air if they didn't). Post#5 above just sums it all up - priceless!!

A cricket commentator for me, Michael Holding. I love his accent and wit and i am dissapointed when he's not covering a match.

Brian Johnston without a doubt he was absolutely fantastic a genius  and of course aggers they were the best double act unless you count the

Two of his recent gems on the subject of 20/20 cricket :D

"If one-day cricket was pyjama cricket, then Twenty20 is underwear cricket."

"This cricket is like a burger, you can have it once a week but for a whole meal, you need to return to Test cricket. More than once a week, and it will give you a tummy ache."

Being interested in golf is like being interested in watching paint dry:devil:
