Just added a sub to my hc system

(rel quake and i know mj 100 prob would of been slightly better but was slightly to overwhelming for my little room)

and have been running it in for bout 10 hours now but looking for some material to really see what it can do. Wondering what peoples favourite test discs are for seriously shaking the room.

looking for a combination of music and dvds. thanks guys

    DVD

Start of the Pod race in Ep1 when all then enignes are starting up.
    Snow scene in xXx

    Music
A fair bit of classical, Montagues and Capalets springs to mind as one.
Mel C. I turn to you, last track on album version

2 fast 2 furious is great if you want to feel the engines and it has some deep hip hop bass music in it too, which really works your sub

Try watching "Matrix Reloaded" all the way through. The film is a bass fest from start to finish.Plus the fact you see a great movie from begining to end into the bargain :smashin: .

If you really want a full work out..... stuff anything anyone else has said. Get hold of the DD R2 Event Horizon. There are scenes within which have (relatively) good bass. You may not be overly enthused so far..... but while most movies you have a point of zero bass as relative, event horizon has heavy bass the whole way through! It is there to scare the listener..... and trust me, it really is frightening. Its also one hell of a strain on your sub since it will be playing at high levels for approaching 2 hours..... my servo is hot at the end.....

    25th Hour

    and

    Vanilla Sky.

Find the two scenes where the cast of each film are in a night club. Seriously sub terranian bass on offer, somewhat less bombastic than the usual suspect demo disks.

    Top notch film making too.

Blade 2 Dolby Digital house of pain scene is even bassier, other than that the entire film is identical whichever sound format u choose. (( and i'm a DTS fan ))

The Haunting region 1 DTS version ur subwoofer probably won't handle all thats thrown at it but its a fab experience.

For music, it has to be "Breathe" by the Prodigy, or Diesel Power. Both from Fat of the Land.

I also like "Jimmy Jazz" by the Clash from London Calling.
