fat ps3 taking a long time to start up

I have an original fat ps3 (60gb?).

Recently I have noticed that when I turn it on it takes ages for anything to appear on screen. any advise? when it eventually does come on I have no issues, blue rays still look/play great etc

Obviously well out of warrenty

How long you talking about? Seconds or minutes?
You sure it's not just because Sony added that epilepsy warning screen at boot up which slows everything down?

seems more like minutes but will time it later when i get home
