Does anybody know the LCD tv with the fastest response time?
The one with the most misleading marketing figures? Response times like contrast ratios are (mostly) meaningless marketing hype.
Sharp have the fastest response rate I've seen, the GA6E range.
I've no idea what mine even is, but I've yet to see any ghostly trails or picture problems.
For first gen LCD's I imagine it was a problem, but any new set shouldn't have any lag issues. If that's why you were asking!
Ignore these pointless figures as they mean nothing in real day to day useage of an LCD screen.
the response time they show is from black to white and back again which is never going to happen when watching the TV (unless you like old films)
most specs i have seen now quote G2G (grey to grey) response times.
Anything 8ms and below is good and you are unlikely to notice any ghosting/trails.
In monitors the 2ms TN+ Film panels are the fastest but in testing show results similar to 6/8ms S-IPS and MVA/PVA panels.
I am sure that I read in some PC magazine that below a certain response time, the human eye/brain interprets the movement as blurry anyway. I think the manufacturers were working on some technique to help with this, but it does mean that the response time isn't everything!
